In My Army training, I've learned to use a compass in order to navigate through and out of the woods. I had to learn how to hold the compass, how to read the compass, find out what my particular pace count was, and to pay attention to where the compass pointed. If not i would find myself loss and waaay off course. They would drop us off in the middle of nowhere. Give us a map coordinates to follow and leave us there. I had to figure out where I was, my pace count which helped me know how far I traveled before changing directions. One wrong read, or a bad pace count could have one totally lost. When we first become Christians, we realize that we are lost and we gain this new desire to be found at a destination which is in Christ and living a holy lifestyle of power. Unlike the compass which is guided by a magnetic field, we are to follw the Holy Spirit. The problem is so many of us what to use our own GPS which is our flesh. We don't want to learn how to properly navigate life. that is why we get so easily lost. We won't follow the pace count of the Holy Spirit. We want things when we want them and refuse so often to wait or slow down. instead of being drawn to the power of the Holy Spirit, we are drawn to things of the flesh.. Cash, cars, sex, and vain things. We won't read the dials. We'd rather estimate and guess-timate. We have created our own formulas on holiness and salvation. You gotta talk like this, walk like this, shout like this, can't shout, dance like this, pray like this and this many times. Flop, slobber, and spit like this... That is the formula... The Holy Spirit is seen as an ''It'' and not a ''He''.. Newsflash! Our walk with God is a personal experience. Not some legalist formula. We need to stop approaching people with the ''turn or burn'' mentality. That won't draw them to Christ.. It hasn't worked yet. Look at how wicked our society has become! If we learn to walk by the spirit, we won't live so much by the flesh. It is that light that will encourage others to follow Christ. Yes, we will make mistakes and bad decisions from time to time, but if we learn to crucify this flesh daily and follow te leading of the Holy Spirit, we will walk in power and in a positive direction. We all start out as vehicles with lawn mower engines in us, makin noise but with little power. All desiring to be that bull dozer of formula 1 race care. Check this nnone of those vehicles are any good without fuel to make them move. The Holy Spirit is the perfect feul. It is also the perfect compass or navigational system. Our flesh is so watered down and it gives false readings. It also drops off alot. My question is What leads and powers you? Check your devices now?
Chew on this scripture:
Galations 5:16
Walk by thew Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh....
